Obituary for Katherine Hamilton (McNew)

Katherine Hamilton (McNew)
Katherine Hamilton, 93, of Tallmadge passed away on April 11, 2017. Born in Akron the daughter of the late Henry Clayton and Ida McNew she has been a lifetime area resident. Katherine was retired from Falls Flag and Banner where she worked as a seamstress repairing all sorts of flags. She was Past President of her local chapter of the Daughters of America. In 1980 she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank.
Her survivors include daughters, Connie Branch, and Gail (Michael) Kane; son, Robert, 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grand children; and 4 great-great grandchildren. Her siblings, Margaret Barlett, Mildred Wigal, and Howard McNew and twin infant sons preceded her in death.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt.91) where funeral services will take place on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Stow Cemetery will follow.
